Amalia Safonova is a 16-year-old emerging Australian soprano and flautist known for the richness of expression in her performances and formidable technical finesse, despite her young age. She performs as a duo together with her brother Artemii Safonov who is a young, talented pianist and composer.
She has appeared in numerous significant productions, including Opera Australia’s “Turandot” and Opera Queensland’s “Barber of Seville”, and has performed at major stages across Australia, such as the Brisbane City Hall and Brisbane Parliament House.
Amalia has been taking lessons with Helena Dix and is currently studying voice and flute as an underage student at the Griffith Conservatorium under the mentorship of Margaret Schindler, as well as flute with Timothy Munro. She has received numerous awards, including prizes from the Australian Concerto and Vocal Competition, as well as various international competitions.
Amalia continues being recognised as one of the most promising young musicians in the field of classical music in Brisbane.
